Pinpoint the decision-maker by name and title—e.g., “Governor Smith,” “Mayor Johnson,” or “Senator Jane Doe.” Make it clear who’s in the hot seat.

Add a Patriotic Graphic for Online Petitions

Use Canva’s free tools to create a striking image that screams “We The People.” For Action Network, make your header 1500px wide by 600px tall (it’ll scale to 750px wide). For Google Forms, use 1600 x 400 pixels. Sign up for a free Canva account to get started.

Write a Rallying Description

Open with 2–3 sentences about the issue threatening We The People values—e.g., government overreach or policies ignoring the people’s will. Follow with 2 sentences on how this harms your community, like eroding freedoms or sidelining citizen voices. Close by urging patriots to sign and explain how your solution (e.g., passing a bill, protecting local rights) restores the people’s power.

Keep the Petition Sharp and Focused

Reuse your description’s opening paragraph, tweaking as needed to define the problem. Start the next paragraph with “We The People demand” and state your call to action—e.g., “pass the Freedom Restoration Act” or “stop unconstitutional mandates.” Keep it to a sentence or two, clear and unrelenting.

Collect Signatures with Purpose

Use Action Network to build your patriot email list and streamline signatures. Under “Report or Delivery Options,” choose email delivery or download a file for printing. For Google Forms, export signatures to a spreadsheet and import into a new document. For hand-collected signatures, create a spreadsheet to enter data, then paste the petition text and each signer’s name, email, and ZIP code into a Google Doc or Word file.
